The mobile app for iOS and Android hit 3.2 million downloads in its initial 24 hours, according to Apptopia. 89 percent of the downloads came from U.S. users, while 9 percent came from Canada and 2 percent from the Netherlands.
In comparison, Netflix’s app was downloaded 662,000 times worldwide on Nov. 12. The Disney+ app is currently No. 1 in Apple’s App Store in both the U.S. and Canada. Users spent a total of 1.3 million hours streaming Disney+ on its first day, according to Apptopia.
Meanwhile, Netflix users spent 6 million hours streaming in the U.S., Canada and the Netherlands. Disney+ is currently available for a free, seven-day trial and will cost subscribers $6.99 a month after the trial period.
