CDC Recommends Ban on Gatherings of 50 or More People

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) made the, extraordinary, recommendation on Sunday.

It is recommending the suspension of public gatherings remain in effect for eight weeks.

This recommendation is made in an attempt to reduce introduction of the virus into new communities and to slow the spread of infection in communities already affected by the virus, CDC Statement, via NPR News.

Such gatherings include “conferences, festivals, parades, concerts, sporting events, weddings, and other types of assemblies.”. The recommendation does not currently apply to schools, businesses or universities.
